So far, this summer…

I have had the pleasure of shooting in the Old Market, in Omaha…

Benson High School…

Dundee…

the Joslyn Castle…

my driveway…

and other fabulous locations.  This week I get to shoot in Washington, and 120th and Center…

My families, children, Seniors, and weddings…I try to be creative and out-of-the box every time.

One thing you need to know…as much as you don’t want the same thing over and over…neither do I.

So if original is what you want, it is likely what you will get…

More, soon!

my baby General on display at “Sugar Cubes” in Bennington.  He is large, in charge and a cannot miss display item.

I am VERY excited that the 24×30 print we won in the contest now has a home.  Sugar Cubes Tea Room is by far one of the best kept secrets of our little community and in Omaha in general.  You should make time to visit soon!

I figure I should let the world in on…

Baby William…

was TOO much fun!

Not only do I love his Mama, his daddy was very nice to meet, and he was a doll!

It is always exciting when other people want nekkid baby photos, because they are a blast to shoot as well.

Baby William never peed on me, but he got his papa…um…three times, I think.  And..um…he got my muslin twice!  But, as I mentioned, he never got me.

Here is his referral card!  What a doll, baby!

And…if you know me well, you know I shoot a ton and proof alot…so here are a few more of my favorites from baby William (I love that name).

Dang, I must have liked these ALOT!

Newport Landing?

Yep…I have been blessed many times over this summer…and I was blessed and honoured to be chosen to shoot at that BEAUTIFUL lake.  Photographing these children was fun and WINDY…note: the hair ;)

Chase and Elise were fabulous…as were their mom and dad.

It is likely that Chase will tell you I am a nutcase, and that may not be far from the truth, but we still had fun.

The photo’s turned out FABULOUS, and I am excited to deliver them.  These folks even ordered their Christmas cards already!  I am digging the advanced planning…  LOL.

Thank you, Michelle, for choosing me to create these images for you…I am pleased you like them, and cannot wait to do it again…

Small Change in Plans…

I won’t be leaving for Denver until Wednesday…therefore if needed, I can shoot one Senior or a couple children between now and Tuesday.  Please call the studio if you are interested in getting in before I go.

seems the folders on the left side of my monitor keep multiplying…but this came out of them, and more will continue to come out…and then, there will be fewer!  Untill tomorrow of course when I shoot Kayla’s Senior Photos.

Enjoy!

My time with Britney was more enjoyable than I could ever imagine.  I certainly hope she feels the same!

Meet Britney…

she was one of my Seniors this year, and we are getting her photos ready to go to school with her this fall!

She was a dream to shoot and very fun to work with after the fact as well.  We will see more of her tomorrow, but tonight…I wanna go to bed.

Enjoy!

Do you Facebook?

Well, if you do…I have a FACEBOOK FANCLUB…  Click on the link and join.  As the weeks go by, I will continue to update the photos and add more sessions as I do here on the blog.

As with most everything in my life.  It spanned from a request and as I write has 14 members.  Hopefully it grows quickly.  My self-esteem grows day by day when I see people in random places, like the sportsman…and they tell me how much the love my work and my blog… Yep, I feel like I am on top of the world.

Let’s face it.  I am happier than I have been in quite some time!  I have a fantastic family (there are NO BETTER people on this earth), great friends…and a wonderful community.  I said it on Saturday, and I will say it again.  I cannot ask for more!

My conversation on Saturday got me to thinking that I should answer some other questions.  Yes is the answer to the following questions:

  • I photograph Senior Pictures
  • I do photograph weddings
  • I LOVE shooting infants…particularly in a very regal fashion…have you seen that work?
  • If I had a favorite age for children it would be from one - to five (you get the most personality from this age group)…but I LOVE all ages.
  • I will shoot your “school photos” so don’t buy the crappy ones…have your shot taken for the year book and give me a call…I have a “special” I am running for that.
  • I do plan to return to full/part-time teaching someday…but right now, I love my children more than my job…and they have to come first. AND…
  • Yes…I have a referral program and print credits for both the referrer and the referree…

I guess I need to go.  I tend to babble…who-da thunk…

I finished the HTML portion of the website mostly for SEO reasons, but it is complete!  Yeah ME!

Here is the link to the newsletter subscription again..http://sloan-studios.com/newsletter/?p=subscribe&id=1   Make sure you sign up to hear about the latest and greatest as well as keeping up to date on one day sales, promotions, and location shoots.

What should one expect from a…

mini-session at Sloan Images Photography in Omaha, Nebraska…well, if you look in the “featured” galleries of the new website, you will see!  Use the gallery for “General”

Mini-Sessions are short and produce 10-15 proofs.  The cost is $25.  It is perfect for clients who are on the go…call the studio if you are interested.

Since we mentioned General’s Seven Month Shots…we just as well share one…

Or six…who knew I would go overboard?

And on this note…doesn’t he look like his brother?  I  think so too…I will have to pull photos of my Spencer from the archives…they look a TON alike.

This website moving process…

has gotten me tapped dry…almost as much as my move to Omaha…(long dramatic story for another time).

we have moved hosts, added domains, and even upgraded the mailing list process.  I know this is saving money in the long run…but boy it is alot of work.

I digress…here is the link to the new mailing list subscription…

If you were on it before, you are still on it because in some manner or another I was able to export/import something…but if you want to be on it now…it will add you in a great automated fashion, but to prevent all the freak-o-nuts that sign up via those bots and stuff, I have asked it to have you confirm your subscription.

So click, click, confirm…don’t forget to confirm!

In addition:  I have received a number of inquiries as to whether or not I will continue to teach private lessons.  Answer, YES!; however, to be true to me and my children and the reasons I made this transition, I will only be accepting a limited number of students…right now, I have set my max at six…but we will see.  My inability to say no may raise that number a bit.  I will begin teaching privately again as soon as you want me to.  I have re:enabled the Private Voice site.  And for SEO reasons entitled it “Northwest Omaha Private Music.”  You can reach the site through this link.  It is the same site as it was back in the day…but you will get the jist of it.

As for photos in today’s post…I dunno.  Since my special Spencer doodle bu is gone swimming at a birthday party, it had reminded me that I have swimming photos in the archives that I have never shared…

This was a special day, and I will forever remember when my sister-in-law Colleen (who I really, really like) called and said, “Spencer really wishes his mom was here to take pictures of him…”  My heart melted, and I drove off like a woman possessed.  When my child wants to be photographed…I am there.  No questions asked!

And frankly, who could ask for better photos than this of their day at the pool?  I ask again…who?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE…

photographing newborn babies.  And if you have ever been around while I do it…you would likely resolve with yourself that I am an artist and NOT WIERD at all!  I climb up, down…around, and work the room like a busy bee…but all the while saying, “I am in no hurry…,”  ”take your time,”  ”if he needs to eat…that is okay.”

And, I mean all those things, I really do!  I just know that my time of happy baby is limited and I want to utilize it to the greatest capacity.  Here is the first of many of the little William that I shot last night.  I will share more when I have mom and dad’s permission…but they are AMAZING photographs.  I spent most of my pre-proofing look through going aahhh…mmmmmmhhhhh…sigh…ooohhh…and dang, he is tiny!

The miracle of life is truly special, and I will never forget that!  Congrats to the proud new parents of this amazing and handsome little one!

You will see his face soon…I promise. ;)

I love Omaha…

I have taken some of the best photos of my life here…Senior Photos, Infant Photos, Wedding Photos, Yearling Photos…but…every now and again I miss the farm.  The BLACK, DARK nights…the quiet mornings…the crickets…

Did I just say I miss the crickets…um, uh, must be too many margaritas… :)

I have found myself enthralled with ThePioneerWoman.com  The photos of the farm/ranch/whatever…

I could LIVE in the Old Market here in Omaha…I photograph families, seniors…and even have some six month photos planned down there soon!  But never the less, sometimes I long for the Wild Frontier of western Nebraska.

I was there not too long ago…and we shot some NEAT, NEAT photos, including this one outside their back door…

But one of the greatest of them all was on the way home when…not 1/4 of a mile from my mom and dads home…and it had NO PEOPLE in it!

And last, though I know I have bragged about her on occasion…this is one more of Lyndsey’s two year photos…what fun those were!

Sometimes, I think I want a little girl…then, I wake up…and love my little boys!  Yep, whew…it was a dream.  God gave me Amber, Megan, Jessica and Lyndsey to love.  And what wonderful little ladies they are!

Well…apparently…

I know nothing about not getting email…it has been an issue for a while now, and I blamed it on the SpamAssassin…but now we have changed servers, and I am getting NO email at all through the sloan-studios.com accounts.

My host have blamed it on propagation, local servers, not local servers…etc.   Needless to say…don’t email me there…

If you are needing to get ahold of me via email…please use the SloanImages@gmail.com address

I do wonder…where do all these emails go?  Into cyber-oblivion?  I don’t get it…can they just go poof when you hit send?  Apparently so…

And for your photo today…enjoy this collage…it has been asked for over and over again…I guess it makes me famous.  :)  I digress, for the fourth time here on the blog…here you are!
